Advice on Heel Height and Platforms in the UK

Usually, five inches is the preferred heel height for Bikini, Fitness and Figure competitions, and is known for being the maximum height in certain organisations. You need to confirm with your chosen organisation what the rules are regarding platforms, as they may not be allowed. But don't worry... you can still have some shoes customised to a dazzling standard without them! Take a look at our customisation of Gala-01:

We have tried to provide as much information from the websites of federations in the UK regarding Posing Shoe Regulations:

(*please note - it is the competitors responsibility to check that their shoes are acceptable with their federation)
(You can click on each heading to take you to the federation's webpage)

Posing Practice:

Practice is key with posing shoes! If you're not comfortable walking in very high heels you could appear awkward on stage, which could impact on your confidence. You should take every opportunity to practice in your shoes well in advance, so that if you're not very confident initially, you will be on the day of your competition. If you are about to compete in your first ever competition, it may be a good idea to wear shoes with ankle straps, you can find those here!

Why do so many competitors wear clear stage shoes?

Clear Shoes “disappear” on stage and help elongate the leg. Some coloured shoes may make your legs look shorter by cutting off the leg where the shoe starts.

Many competitors choose to pose in shoes that sparkle but, it is said that too much sparkle could distract the judges from your physique. This can depend on the organisation and category that you have chosen to compete in. So many competitors choose to have a bikini covered in crystals and others wear amazing jewellery that dazzles on stage, so it really depends on the package that you want to present.

We have a wide variety of shoes for you to choose from at ShowShoeMe! Some are plain, some come ready-made with diamantés and we also offer a customisation and Bikini Match service, so you really can have your shoe game on point!

Breaking in my shoes

Plastic posing shoes can be moulded to your feet and many competitors break them in during posing practice, by wearing them around the house with thick socks or by softening them with a hair dryer before allowing them to cool around the shape of the foot - careful not to make them too hot though!

Do you offer sponsorship for competitors?

We are currently working towards sponsoring bikini and figure category winners across various organisations and events. We will also be looking to sponsor a handful of individuals in the coming months!
